Glimmer of Hope Afghan School Project – Benefit – April 27, Bayside Grange

Glimmer of Hope Afghan School Project

Glimmer of Hope Afghan School Project, under the umbrella of Veterans for Peace, invites the community to dance to the music of The Bayou Swamis, Saturday, April 27 from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at The Bayside Grange.

Enjoy Afghan food by Comfort of Home Catering and beer from Mad River Brewery. Place bids on wonderful offerings in the silent auction and purchase tickets to win raffle prizes. There will be an art and letter writing corner to send an illustrated message to an Afghan student. One of the last Peace Corps Volunteers to serve in Afghanistan is decorating the hall with a beautiful Afghan display. Sunny Rose, the former U.S. Navy Engineer who served in Afghanistan and inspired the project and his sister Erika will be attending and welcoming participants at the door. This is a family friendly event. Children 12 and under who attend with a parent are admitted free. Teenagers 13 to 19 are $5 and adults $10 suggested donations.
